Hong Kong's heritage brands are an essential component of our local culture, yet they often go unnoticed by the public. Through this project, I aim to create a unique Hong Kong brand that highlights and introduces our local heritage brands to both tourists and residents, especially teenagers.
The objective is to enhance awareness of our heritage brands and traditional culture among a broader audience.
Concept
The phrase “尋港記” translates to "the journey of discovering Hong Kong's culture," as these brands represent the treasures of our city.
Therefore, I have chosen black and gold for the key visual to symbolize our quest to uncover the treasures of Hong Kong. This project focuses on heritage restaurants and local cuisine, serving as a reminder that we still possess this rich culture.
Background
Over time, many aspects of Hong Kong's local culture have begun to decay, leading to a growing number of people forgetting our treasured traditions. Therefore, “Fade City” serves as a symbol of our culture's gradual fading, much like colors that lose their vibrancy.
I aim to utilize this project to bring our culture to the forefront and encourage more people to remember our rich historical heritage.
Concept
The term “faded” refers to colors dimming from their original brightness, which inspired my project concept. In many of the works, you will notice a predominant use of black, gray, and white, along with peeling and noise effects, to effectively convey a “faded” impact.
Background
The singer Chan See Long has released a new song titled 《每日想幾次》. This heartfelt love song expresses the sadness he feels as he reminisces about his love story following a breakup with his girlfriend.
To support his promotion efforts, my aim is to create some engaging posters and a music album.
Concept
Because this is a poignant love song, I plan to incorporate dark colors, expressions of sorrow, and a blur effect to evoke a sense of sadness and reflection.
My aim is to utilize these elements to tell a story through static visuals, allowing the audience to truly feel the emotion behind my work.
Background
McDull is a beloved classic IP in Hong Kong, embodying the cherished memories of its people. This project aims to revive the spirit of McDull, ensuring he remains a memorable figure for everyone. Similarly, Kowloon Walled City has gained recent fame through its association with the film.
I intend to blend these elements to bring my project to life.
Concept
Both McDull and Kowloon Walled City are integral parts of Hong Kong's rich culture. To integrate these elements, I will use Kowloon Walled City as the backdrop and feature McDull as the main character.
The plan is to create a handcrafted 3D photo frame that captures a scene of McDull embarking on an adventure in Kowloon Walled City, perfectly aligning with his exploratory nature.
Background
Hong Kong is rich in cultural treasures, and one of its gems is the tram system. Since 1904, the Hong Kong tramways have served the local population for over a century.
This project aims to promote and introduce the unique charm of Hong Kong's tramways.
Concept
In the promotional material, I will primarily focus on the tramways' features, including their speed, passenger capacity, and historical significance.
To give the audience a deeper understanding of the tramways, I have visited the actual locations to capture firsthand photos and videos, which I will edit into the final promotional video.
